Life... sometimes...

Maybe this will be a blog I actually keep updating. Hehe! I've been enrolled in the first round of the School of Worship and Leadership which is now nearing it's close. I got roped into creating the website and eventually the website for AMM. That's been a great experience for me. I've learned so much by doing it. Hopefully I'll be able to use these skills in the future.

I think I originally decided to go for the school not so much because I expected to hear a lot of new things, I just wanted the continued exposure to God's word and great teachers. Honestly I've been through the hardest time in my life these past 2 years and I don't know how I would have made it with out my wonderful wife, my very good friends and this great school. There's still a lot I'm going through. No details here though.

One of the big things I'm taking from the school is the attitude of: "why not?". Much of my life I've been afraid to try new things, some of which I really wanted to do. There was always the question: "why?". It's good to ask yourself that. It's good to ask yourself what motivates you. In asking myself some of those questions I've come to realize that my motivation has been basically survival. That's no way to live, not long term. There's no reaching out in faith with that kind of attitude. It's all hedging in and protecting the ground you hold. Put your back to the wind and just buckle down while the storm blows by. Hmm... That brings a book to mind... I'm riiiii - iii - ding the stooooorm! Hehe! I've come to the place where I still really don't know what's going on with much of my life but I'm tired of my foxhole. I think I'm ready to take some bigger steps. Make some successes, and failures.

Anyway, just a few of the smaller new things I'm trying, there's the website of course, I've joined a band called Swaty Wetry, I'm determined to further my education at least a little bit, and, I've started karate. I guess it's been about 2 months and I've advanced 2 levels to yellow belt. So, last of all, for your viewing enjoyment...
