The story begins...

Back in 1999 a group of us - fifty or so English, Czech and Slovak musicians - devoted ourselves to a week of worship in a small ski-lodge in a remote corner of the Czech Republic. What we experienced changed the direction of our lives: we nicknamed the place ‘Angel Mountain’. People were profoundly touched: we felt a real sense of connection with each other and experienced extraordinary spiritual renewal. In the years that followed deep friendships have developed - particularly among creative people and musicians - which have grown into a vibrant community of believers dedicated to spiritual renewal and radical worship.

Radical worshippers

The word radical is important to us, as it has two key meanings. One meaning is ‘to be rooted’ - to get back to basics. Christianity seems a bit like an old computer that’s had bits of software and numerous random files added over the years. Maybe it’s time to reformat the hard drive? To get back to the things that Jesus taught were important? But to be radical also means being pioneering and very focused on goals - maybe even slightly crazy! We hope that our work at grass-roots level will encourage many people to be more focused and fulfilled as Christian worshippers.

Worship is also an important word. Although Angel Mountain Ministries is involved in music and the arts, we appreciate that worship is much bigger than this. We are focused on renewal and ‘worship as a lifestyle’ which impacts the culture around us.
